Principal’s Message

Mr. Nakia Carson, Principal of West Marion Elementary School
Welcome to West Marion Elementary, home of the Panthers. We are a hard working community that believes in high expectations for all. Success is the only option here at West Marion Elementary. I am dedicated to serving our community and the entire school system. We have to work collectively to move forward in a positive direction in our county and we all are responsible for ensuring that this occurs. Our school relies on outstanding participation from our community so make sure that you are part of the solution by being an active member in our volunteer programs offered throughout the county. I grew up in McDowell County, graduated with honors and joined the United States Marine Corps. I returned home to serve my community in the same way I served my country. I've been sworn to stand up for honor, courage, commitment for our nation and I will not waiver from that. I expect the same from my students, teachers, and this community. Stand with West Marion Elementary and the entire McDowell County community.
